After several attempts, I recently received a book contract from a local publisher. This is a very exciting time for a new writer like me and I want to make sure that I do not make any hasty decisions. The terms of the contract are clear and acceptable, however, the publishing company suggests that I get a copyright for the book. As this is a first for me as an author, I have never had to copyright a book before in my life and I have no idea where to begin.
Of course, a smart first-time author would simply ask, âHow do you copyright a book?â but I am way too self conscious to do such a thing.
