The Union Government is planning to construct a six lane highway connecting Mumbai and Ahmedabad within 5 hours by road. K.H. Muniyappa, Minister of State for Shipping Road Transport and Highways said that the Vadodara-Surat Highway will be completed in next two years and in three years time Surat-Dalusar project will also be over. Through this highway between Vadodara-Surat, one could easily reach Mumbai with in five hours at a speed of 100 kmph.
According to K.H. Muniyappa, the expressway involves as expenditure of Rs. 1150 crore and the work on it will begin after a detailed project report is being presented.
